Sweet Boys

Look at this sweet face! Kyle is not sleeping well AT ALL at night. Some nights are better than others, but for the last month, I would be HAPPY to just get up twice a night! But, when this little boy looks at me, I can't help but smile back! He's just so cute!

Last week, Connor spilled some water on his shirt one morning, so I went and put it in the dryer. I couldn't find one of his shirts in the dryer and I didn't want to go upstairs to get another one, so I put Jeremy's t-shirt on him until his shirt was dry. He loved it! He kept saying, "This shirt flops around when I run!"

Again, how can you not smile at this little face?!?!

Last Saturday, Connor went in the kitchen and started drawing on his chalk table. Connor doesn't really have much interest in coloring or art, so I thought he'd color on it for a minute and then go back to his trucks. Well, after a few minutes, he told us to come see the picture he drew. Now, he has never drawn an actual face or picture before. He has only scribbled in the past or drawn circles or lines. So, that was what we were expecting. We were shocked to see an actual face with eyes in the right place, a nose and a mouth. He drew ears (the litt lines sticking out the sides), hair (the lines sticking off the top of the face), and legs (the lines off the bottom on the right and left). And, yes, that other line in the middle is his attempt at making his drawing anatomically correct! We did not teach that to him and couldn't stop laughing when he told us what it was!

I just hope that he did not go to church the next morning and draw it again!

Happy Third Birthday, Connor!

2010

January 1, 2008

Three years ago, we started the new year with the best present ever! Connor Jackson White was born at 6:47 p.m. weighing 7 lbs, 3 1/2 ounces and he was 20 inches long. Now, our big boy is over 35 pounds and over 37 inches. We'll find out in February the exact stats when I take Connor for his 3 year appointment and Kyle for his 4 month appointment!

The past three years have been so much fun. We have loved watching him learn, discover, and grow. He is so smart. He amazes us every day! We have always been amazed by his memory. He remembers things from a year ago without any prompting from us. At Thanksgiving, we were at Gigi and Great-Granddaddy's house putting up their Christmas tree. Connor asked where the thing was with the horses that go round and round and where the thing was with the Santa that goes up and down. Gigi and Great-Granddaddy have a carousel ornament that goes round and round and they have a stocking ornament with a Santa that goes up and down. Connor remembered those specific two ornaments from their tree from last Christmas...11 months before! We were all completely amazed!

He loves trucks, trains, and sports! He has more matchbox cars and trucks than you could imagine. And, he knows each of them. He often wants to play with a specific car or truck, not just any car or truck. His train table brings him hours of enjoyment, also! And, he has always loved playing sports...baseball, football, soccer, golf, basketball...any sport and all sports!

He does not like loud noises. He doesn't like trucks or toys that make a lot of noise or that move on their own. But, he does like to be loud...very loud!

And, he also LOVES stuffed animals, especially his little stuffed dog. He sleeps with as many stuffed animals as we will allow, which is usually about 10 or more! It's a good thing that he has a double size bed or he wouldn't fit in it!
His favorite TV show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but he also likes Dora, and most of the shows on Playhouse Disney. He also likes Thomas and Barney. And, of course, Elmo is still popular, too!

Connor's a great big brother! He is very good with Kyle and is always saying "I love my baby." He gives Kyle kisses on his head before bed. He's not very good at saying "Kyle", so he tends to call Kyle, "Baby." Kyle may be in high school and still called "Baby!"

Two of his favorite things to say are:
"I've had a busy day."
"That's crazy!"

We love him so much! He brings smiles to our faces every day! I cannot believe that our little baby is such a big boy now!
