Fall Festival

We headed to the Fall Festival at church tonight.  It was full of inflatables and friends!  The boys had a great time jumping and sliding and riding!  Halloween night has been a lot of fun, so far!

A New Day

For those of you that are worried that I've locked one particular child in his room indefinitely, know that today was a much better day!  MUCH BETTER!

God definitely knows how much one person can handle.  Oh, I know that there are more bad days ahead, I am thankful for such a good day today.  I hope to be able to look back on this day to remind myself that there are good days in the midst of long, hard days!

Kyle took a TWO HOUR NAP!  Normally, this would be normal and not blog worthy, but since he hasn't napped in the three previous days, I was beyond thankful for his nap today.  Last night, after his tough day, I put him in bed at 6:30.  he fell asleep super fast and slept until after 7:00 this morning.  He definitely needed the sleep!

This morning, he went to our friend Jennifer's house to play with her son Carter while I went on a field trip with Connor to a play.  Connor really enjoyed the play!  Kyle really enjoyed his morning with Jennifer, Carter, and Caleb!

This afternoon, we headed to the Library for a Halloween festival.  We met up with Beth, Austin, and Anna Liz.  The kids were all dressed up in their costumes (so cute!) and had a good time.  After the library, we met the daddies at Moe's for a fun, wild, loud dinner!

Thank you, Lord, for days like today!  Thank you for good friends that I can depend on as babysitters when I need someone.  And, thank you for good friends, good times, and good food tonight!

"Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For his mercy endures forever..."

The Turbulent Threes

What do you do when your sweet little boy has a terrible case of the Turbulent Threes!?  (Whoever came up with the term Terrible Twos did not have a three year old.  Threes are SO much worse than the twos!!!)

First of all, Sunshine and Granddaddy, Mimi and Bobbles, if you have ever wished that we lived closer to you, be VERY thankful that we do not.  Honestly, if I lived in the same town as my parents or in-laws, I would have had to drop Kyle off with them today and RUN away fast for a couple of hours!  I would have come back, but the ability to drop him off with someone who loves him no matter what would have been tempting!  So, be thankful that we live several hours away!

Instead of running away, I had the joy (ha ha!) of spending the day with a three year old that thinks he is in charge, that has said "no" one too many times, that refuses to nap, that was completely exhausted from the lack of nap, and that is more defiant that I could have ever imagined!  Oh, the joy!

So, what do you do when your sweet little terror won't stop screaming and crying, disobeying and pushing every limit?

You let him climb on top of the kitchen counter (all by himself without a chair) and you let him play for as long as he wants in the kitchen sink!!!

This is honestly the first smile I had from him in HOURS!

This was one of the roughest days I can remember with Kyle.  But, thankfully, Connor was on his BEST behavior today!  I am so thankful for both of these boys.  On good days and bad days, I am thankful for them.

Pray for tomorrow to be a better day!

First Field Trip

Connor had his first school field trip yesterday.  The two kindergarten classes went to the Augusta Exchange Fairgrounds to do a tour.  They rode a bus!  On this field trip, the parents were invited to follow the bus there and join the group for the tour.  They started the tour with a hay ride around the fairgrounds.  However, one of Connor's classmates is allergic to hay, so we took a hay-less hay ride!  We visited with the animals and took a tour through the exhibits.

Connor had a great time and really enjoyed getting to ride the bus!

Fair Fun

The Georgia-Carolina Fair was this week and Tuesday night was Faith and Family Night.  Our church offered tickets for free admission and parking, so we took advantage.  The boys had a fabulous time on all of the rides!  We will definitely have to go back next year (or to the Columbia County Fair next month!).

This Gator Roller Coaster was definitely their favorite ride.  They were able to ride it twice.  Kyle's face lit up on it!

Fun Fall Weekend

We had a fun fall weekend!  The weather was so nice and we enjoyed a few outdoor activities.  On Friday I wanted to take the boys to the pumpkin patch at one of the churches nearby.  I mentioned it to Jeremy thinking he would not be able to go with us since he would be working, but he was able to leave a few minutes early that day and join us at the pumpkin patch!  The boys had a great time picking out each of their pumpkins and pulling the wagon around.

On Saturday morning, we headed to Club Car for a Family Fun Day at Jeremy's office.  The boys had a great time!  There were some inflatables and a train (pulled by a Club Car vehicle).  We were able to tour the plant and visit Jeremy's office.  The boys had a really good time!

 Future Engineers:

Connor designed his own golf car on one of Daddy's wipe off boards.

On Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed watching our Auburn Tigers win a HUGE game!  War Eagle!

And, then on Sunday, we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather!

Tonight, we are headed to the Georgia-Carolina State Fair to enjoy more of this fall weather!  I'll post pictures soon!

Hope you are enjoying this fall as much as we are!
