30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 27

Today, Thanksgiving Holidays really started for the entire family.  Jeremy met up with us today!  And, he and I got to go to a movie (yay...The Hunger Games!) and to dinner (without kids)!  So, today, I am thankful for my awesome husband that got up early to get here with us today and for time alone with him tonight!

Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 26

I am so thankful for fun, relaxing, quality time with my family this week.  The boys are having such a great time with Sunshine and Granddaddy!  And, I've really enjoyed spending time here, too!

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 25

I finally took a bunch of pictures today!  During the past week or so I have taken a few pictures here and there, but not much.  We were packing and traveling and shopping.  But today, the boys, Granddaddy and I headed outside (in the brrrrrr cold weather).  The boys played in the leaves, colored with sidewalk chalk, climbed on a mountain of pinestraw bales, rode down the driveway, and played baseball.  They had to get all of their outside energy out this afternoon because it is going to be COLD and rainy the next couple of days.  :(

So, today, I am so thankful for fall leaves and boys that love to play in them!

These pictures show a little bit of the fun they had!

Psalm 9:1
I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

Family Thanksgiving:
Connor - He is thankful for his puppy.
Kyle - He is thankful for playing.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 24

I am so thankful for a fun day of shopping in the cute local shops around LaGrange today with my mom and aunt!  It was so nice to spend an afternoon out and about with them.  We didn't buy a lot (well, Mom and I didn't...Nonnie, she found a great new piece of furniture!), but we had a lot of fun.  I always enjoy shopping days with my mom and I'm so glad that my aunt joined us today!  I am also thankful for a great daddy/granddaddy that was willing to keep the boys for the afternoon.  Kyle was supposed to be napping for most of the time we would be gone, but the little stinker never went to sleep, so Granddaddy got him up after awhile.  They played outside, snacked, and played inside.  Definitely not a relaxing Sunday afternoon of watching football for Daddy, but I sure appreciated his help!

 1 Corinthians 1:4-5
I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.  For in him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your knowledge.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 22

I am SO SO SO thankful that today at 1:00 we started Thanksgiving Break!  I am so glad that the boys have a week off school and we get to travel and see so much family this week!

We are really looking forward to seeing Sunshine and Granddaddy tomorrow and Mimi and Bobbles (and everyone else) later in the week.  We are thankful for this break from our routine.  I think we all are in need of a break!  And, of course, we are looking forward to all the things that we get to enjoy during Thanksgiving time, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, good food, movies (Hunger Games for J and me!!!), the Iron Bowl, the Lighting of the Macy's Tree, and shopping (LOTS and LOTS!)!  I hope that this week goes nice and slow so that we can enjoy every moment.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 21

Today, I am thankful that Jeremy has a great job to provide for us.  He works really hard for our family.  And, because of his hard work, I am able to stay home with our two boys.  I am so thankful for that opportunity!

Note:  Photos today have nothing to do with my thanksgiving.

Making his own sandwich!

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 20

I am so thankful for Connor's school.  Connor has been attending since he was in the three year old preschool class, so this is his third (and final) year.  I am so glad we stayed there this year.

Connor's teacher is Mrs. DiRenzo.  He loves her and the teacher assistant, Mrs. East.  They are so great with the kids.  And, I really feel that he is learning so much.  But, my favorite part is that he is still being talk about God every day at school.  Unless God changes our mind about sending him to public school next year, this will be his last year of going to a Christian school.  I have heard his teacher remind them about God's love day after day by saying, "Remember that your mommy loves you.  Your daddy loves you.  Mrs. DiRenzo loves you.  Mrs. East loves you.  But, who loves you the MOST!?"  And, they all respond with "GOD!"  I love that he is reminded and taught of God's love each and every day at school.

I am thankful for his final of year of preschool.  (And, oh so sad at the same time!).

Romans 8:37-39
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Family Thanksgiving:
Jeremy - He is thankful for two intelligent boys.
Connor - He is thankful for Mommy.
Kyle - He is thankful for Mommy.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 18

I am so thankful for smart, imaginative boys who love to learn!  Both boys love to learn, read, and are so creative.  They can come up with some creative, imaginative games and activities!  Connor is learning to read and has been doing so well.  But, if I had to predict a future occupation for him, I would definitely predict that he will be an engineer like his Daddy (and uncles and grandfather).  I see him being a mechanical engineer because he loves to design things and he is very creative.  He is great at coming up with solutions.  He impresses me with his math skills, too.  We are very proud of him!

Kyle is just an original!  He is animated and funny.  He loves to do what his brother does, but he is great at entertaining himself and coming up with activities and games himself.  He loves to play pretend.  This morning, he told me that he was a policeman and that I was the police car.  I asked him how I could be a car and he squatted down and told me to do it, too.  When I did, he jumped on my back and said, "Now you're a car!"

I love to watch and listen to these two play together.  They teach each other so much!

Proverbs 18:15
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Family Thanksgiving:
Jeremy - He is thankful for a good home to live in.
Connor - He is thankful for Puppy.
Kyle - He is thankful for playing.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 17

Today I am thankful for the beautiful weather!  I always love days like today when it is 80 degrees in November!  Colder days are ahead, but we enjoyed our time outside this afternoon in God's beauty!

Psalm 102:25
In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 17

I am thankful for my sixth grade girls Life Group (aka Sunday School class, aka Small Group) that I help teach at church!  Jeremy taught seventh graders and then eighth graders the last couple of years and is now teaching sixth grade boys.  Last year I taught two year olds, Kyle's class specifically.  Actually, I've helped in some way with his class since he was almost a year old.  So, when my friend Micah mentioned me teaching with her, I decided to teach sixth graders this year.  Micah and I have a great group of girls.  They are still so innocent and unexposed to the thrill and harshness of the teenage years.  Even looking at the seventh and eighth grade girls, I can see such a huge difference in who they are now and who they will be in a year or two.

Since I don't have any pictures of my girls, I will include a couple of pictures of the boys from yesterday.

Most of these girls are still only 11 years old.  None of them were born before September 11, 2001.  They are all products of a post-9/11 world.  WOW!  But, they all have such sweet hearts.  I am excited to see how they will grow and change physically, socially, and spiritually over the next few years.

Sixth grade is the first year that they are in the Youth Group at our church.  They have never done Summer Camp or Disciple Now or any other type of "mountain top" experience that was so life changing for me as a youth. These experiences, as well as my youth group Sunday School classes and Bible Studies, taught me the meat of the Bible beyond the Bible Stories that I learned as a child.  I learned to worship.  I learned to pray.  For the most part, although they may be Christians, having accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they have not yet learned to live a life of serving Him.  Honestly, I think we all are always learning to live for Jesus, but our experiences and the experiences that we've had where we've had to trust Jesus have shaped us into the Christian that we are today.

These girls will probably grow more physically, socially, and spiritually in the next few years than any point in their lives before or possibly after.  I'm excited to see who they become.  I am thankful to be a part of their lives during this year.  I am thankful to be able to get to know each of them.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Family Thanksgiving:
Jeremy - He is thankful for a great church family.
Connor - He is thankful for a fun day and going to church today.
Kyle - He is thankful for playing trucks and pit crew with Daddy today.
