Snow Day #2

We spent our morning with Austin and Anna Liz playing at our house.  After they left, the boys and I headed outside for a little more snow fun.  Connor and Kyle were fascinated with the icicles that formed on the bushes.  They wanted to pull them off and break them all apart.  They had a good time doing that, digging through the snow, and riding scooters.  We did not stay out too long since it was already nap time, but I did take a few pictures (of course).

I debated whether to even keep these next few photos or just delete them as soon as I took them.  And, I debated on whether or not to post them (especially the first one).  But, I've been thinking about the fact that I am rarely in photos.  I am the one with the camera. I shoot manual 99% of the time, so don't hand the camera off to someone else much at all.  And, I typically don't like how I look in pictures (who does!?), so I just am not in many pictures. I want that to change. I want to set the self timer and get more pictures with the boys. I want to hold the camera out and take pictures of me with the boys.  I want to make sure that I am in pictures with the boys.  The pictures don't have to be perfect or beautiful, but I want the boys to see me at this age, this time, this place in our lives.  So, here are some "selfies" that I took of myself and of me with each of the boys.

Kyle did not want to participate!

Happy Snow Day #2!  I hope you have had a great week!  Connor goes back to school tomorrow.  I have really enjoyed having both of my boys home, so I hate to send him back, but I am looking forward to a little time out of the house since we have been cooped up for the last couple of days.

Have a great weekend!

Snow Day

Today is a snow day!  We received about 3 inches of snow last night, so we are out of school and work today.  School is also canceled for tomorrow since the roads will probably freeze over again tonight.  I love having my boys home!

I wish I could have gotten a picture of the boys together, but they, of course, did not want to pose and smile for any pictures, so I got what I could!  They had a good time playing in the snow.  The slide was icy, so Kyle always wanted someone to catch him when he slid down.  But, overall, they had a great time!

Here is their snowman!

Snowball fight!

Once we came inside, Kyle did not want to take his hat off.
Isn't he cute!?

We hope you are safe and warm today!

This and That

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day!

This is the day the LORD has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

We played on the playground at school for awhile after I picked Connor and Austin up from school.  The weather was so nice!  After nap time, we headed out to pick up some firewood as a precaution for the wintery weather that is coming tomorrow and then we headed to the park for more play!  We may be outside again tomorrow, but it might be in the snow and ice!  Georgia weather is definitely ever-changing.

Last night, the boys played Connect Four and Hungry Hungry Hippo.  We managed to make it at least 15 minutes without too much arguing over who won or whose turn it was.

I hope you are having a great day and that you stay safe if you have "wintery weather" this week!

Whew! What a Week!

Last week, I suffered from the dreaded stomach virus.  Connor and Kyle ended up with it, also, but thankfully, they seemed to get a milder version than I did.  We thought we had made it without Jeremy getting it.  Then, on Monday morning, he had to leave work sick!  He's feeling better now, as we all are, and he is heading back to work tomorrow (hopefully).  After a week of sickness, I am more than ready for the house to be GERM-FREE!  I cleaned the house top to bottom on Friday.  I Clorox wiped or Lysoled EVERYTHING in addtion to giving the whole house a good scrubbing.  I've now gone back around and cleaned most of the house again to some extent and will be scrubbing our bedroom and bathroom tomorrow (Jeremy's been quarantined there!).  Fun times at the White House!

So, due to the plague, aka stomach virus, I have not taken many pictures over the past week.  So, there's nothing much interesting to share, but since my last post did not include any pictures of our kids, I decided I'd post a few from yesterday.

The boys and I spent as much of the MLK holiday outside (and away from the germs of our house).  We went to the river for a walk (and rock throwing) on Monday morning.  The weather was so incredibly nice.  We ran into friends and played with them a little bit.  We had a good time exploring God's creation!  Then, MLK afternoon, we headed to the park to continue enjoy the beautiful day.  The next few days are supposed to be very cold, so I am so glad we had some time outside when we did!

I really didn't take many pictures and the majority were not worth sharing.  Oh well!

These first two are from a week ago (pre-plague).  Kyle was trying out his new pogo jumper.  Connor actually loves it the most, but Kyle is starting to get the hang of it and is so proud of himself!  (The helmet was not required by me to be able to jump, but he looks so cute in it!).

The rest are from the park yesterday.

And, this is how Kyle slides!

I am so thankful for these two!
