Biometric Fingerprinting!!!

One (small) step closer to China!

We had our biometric fingerprinting appointment today.  Now, we just wait for our approval from USCIS (Homeland Security).  We hope that it will come within the next two weeks.  Our agency is going to send our dossier through the authentication process over the next couple of weeks.  It has to be authenticated at several different levels (county, state, country/consulate).  We are a little worried that my medical exam will be outside of the six month window from exam date that we need for the final authentication, so we are going ahead and sending all of our documents except for the USCIS approval through the authentication process now and then, once we receive the USCIS approval, we will expedite that one from through the authentication process.  Once all of the documents have been authenticated, our agency will send our dossier to China and we will officially be DTC (Dossier to China).  We are really close to DTC!  I am hoping that we will be DTC in early March.

So, today's fingerprinting appointment was one small step closer to China!

Also, regarding adoption updates,we applied for our first grant this week.  I believe the review process takes 6-8 weeks, so we probably will not hear anything for awhile.  We will continue to apply for a few more grants over the next few weeks/months.  Some have specific deadlines and others do not.  Please be in prayer that we will receive the grants and funds that God desires and that we will have peace when/if we do not receive grants.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!

Noonday - You're Invited!

One of my friends, Nancy Scott, is a Noonday ambassador.  Another friend, Melissa Widener, has offered to host a Noonday show at her house to benefit our adoption!  The show will be at Melissa's house on February 7th and if you are local, we would love for you to join us!  However, whether you live near us or across the country, you can start shopping today, January 23rd.  25% of every sale between today and February 12, 2015 will go to our adoption fund!

So, if please go to Nancy's Noonday page and check out all of the awesome jewelry and accessories!  If you are interested in making a purchase, choose Nancy Scott as your ambassador at checkout and type "White Family" as the trunk show name.  If you order before February 1st, you do not have to pay sales tax.  They will start charging sales tax on all purchases starting February 1st.

We hope you will check out the website.  Every little bit helps us bring our son or daughter home!

Boys at the Playground

Our house might as well be a playground some days...

Connor's Birthday

I am only a couple of weeks behind in posting this!  Oh well!  Better late than never!

We celebrated Connor's birthday in Huntsville on January 1st, but we celebrated it in LaGrange before we left LG.

On Connor's birthday, he asked to have lunch at Connor's in Huntsville.  It is a nicer restaurant there (nicer as in it is a restaurant that takes reservations and uses cloth napkins vs. our typical fast food fair with the kids!), but since it bears his name, he always wants to eat there.  So, we did!

And, on his birthday afternoon, we enjoyed cupcakes and presents.

Once we returned home, we met up with Jane Anne, Rob, Mills, Andrew, and Davis one day for a birthday lunch and then we did a birthday dinner with the Harpers (Austin and Anna Liz).  It was a week of celebrating!

A White Christmas

We had a wonderful "White Christmas"!  No, we did not see snow, but we enjoyed a week in Huntsville with the White family!

On our first day there, Kyle and Bobbles built a bow and arrow.

Then, as soon as it was done, Kyle asked for a shield, too!  So, of course, Bobbles got to work.

We had Christmas with the kids one morning and Christmas with the adults that night.  Then, we did stockings the next day.  It was so much fun to see the kids open their presents!

Is Millie so cute!?

And, this one is such a mess!

Mimi made Clark Kent/Superman shirts for the boys!  She bought button-up shirts for them and removed the buttons.  Then, she sewed the buttons back on the outside of the shirt.  Then, she put velcro on the shirt so that it would close.  Then, with a Superman shirt underneath they can open their button-up shirt like Clark Kent does!

Mimi, these were a big hit!  They loved showing them off at school on the first day back!

Another favorite was the light saber!  All five of these kids, including Millie, were sword fighting and light saber fighting all week!

Look at these cuties!

Mimi made FIVE layered cakes and put fondant on them.  There was one cake for each kid to decorate.  So, one afternoon we headed down to the basement where she had set up a table with cakes and decorations.  The kids each got to decorate their own cake.  Later, we cut into the cakes and each cake was a different flavor!  The kids and grown-ups enjoyed tasting their creations!

To keep clean, Mimi had gotten Bobble's old shirts for the kids to wear.

The kids love having Mimi read to all of them before bed.

It was a really fun Christmas in LaGrange and Huntsville!  We are so thankful for our families!
