Doctors, Donuts, and Diamonds (Baseball)

On Friday, we had an appointment with Dr. Yu, Paxton's cleft doctor.  Honestly, the appointment did not go quite as well as I had hoped.  I had hoped that we would be released for a year with no surgeries on the horizon for several years.  However, we found out that Paxton has a fistula (an unintentional hole).  We knew he had two holes behind his front teeth, but we assumed that both were intentionally left for his future bone graft surgery.  However, we found out that one hole was intentional for the bone graft, but one is a fistula.  If the fistula is not affecting his speech, we can leave it open and it will be repaired when he is 7 or 8 or so when he has his bone graft.  But, if it is causing problems with his speech when we return to Dr. Yu in six months, he will consider surgery to repair it.  We are praying that there will not be a need to repair it anytime soon.  We are praying that his speech develops as the doctor wants so that he does not need surgery.  But, we will trust that God knows what is best for our son and that his will will be done!

On Saturday, between Kyle and Connor's baseball games, we went to Krispy Kreme for donuts!

On Saturday night, after a morning of baseball games, we went to the Augusta Greenjacket's game (the local minor league team).  It was Upward Baseball night, so Connor got to go out on the field before the game. Kyle could have, but he didn't want to go.  Connor was super excited about it, though!  We sat with several friends and had a great time!  I had expected that we would make it only a couple of innings, but we made it five or so before we decided to leave to get the kids to bed.  They all did a great job and had a good time.
