Memorial Day Fun

We ate dinner tonight with two of the three other families in our Monday night small group.  One family couldn't make it.  We had such a great time!  The kids ran around wild and the adults had such fun, great conversation and laughs!  We ended the night with some sparklers!  It was a huge hit with the kids.

Happy Memorial Day!  So thankful for those who have served and given their lives allowing us the freedom we have!

The Last Week of School...Whew!

Whew!  We are so glad that school is out!  Friday was the last day, but the whole week was busy with last week activities, especially at Connor's school.  I was at his school several times this week.  But, let's start with Monday.  Monday was our only "normal" day.  Paxton and I went to speech and of course, he had a great time!

Tuesday was Field Day at Connor's school, but I did not get any pictures of it.  Wednesday was Mini-Society Day.  Throughout the past few weeks, each third grade class has had their own mini-society where the students apply for and get jobs within their classroom, pay rent for their homes (aka their desks), develop a product or service to sell, pay for materials, advertising and anything else that went along with selling their product or service and finally sell their product or service on Mini-Society Day.  Connor interviewed in front of his whole classroom for Banker and he was awarded the job.  He decided to sell Origami Yodas and a few other kids joined him in his business.  Paxton and I went to Mini-Society Day on Wednesday.  We had a little bit of "money" to spend from Connor having to pay me for supplies and advice!  And, Mrs. Marchman gave us a few more dollars so that we could shop.  Paxton loved going around and buying things!  And, he was a hit with the third graders.  One sweet little boy went and bought him a pet rock after we had already run out of money (fake money).  And, other kids just gave away their product to Paxton because he was cute!  It was so much fun to watch Connor sell his product and then go around and buy his friends' products.  It was a fun day!

Thursday was Connor's class party and I was able to bring him home early that day after the party.

And, Friday was the last day.  Last day pictures!

Kyle had Splash Day with his class.

After Splash Day, we headed to Connor's school to get him.  He only had a half day and we arrived a little early and got him out.  School's Out!!!!

And, we ended the last week of school with a little bit of backyard play.

We are so thankful that both boys had a great school year, but we are also so thankful that SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!

Next year, Connor will be a fourth grader (how is that possible!), Kyle will be a first grader (and will be at Connor's school), and Paxton will got to preschool two mornings a week!  I'm hoping that time slows down this summer!

End of the Year Programs

Last night was a fun night of performances for our big two boys!  Connor started off the night with a performance at his school.  The third grade sang and played their recorders at the school's Art Show Night.  Connor did a great job and he was so much fun to watch!  I took photos during the program, but they were just too dark and blurry because we were sitting in the back, so the only decent one is of him before we went into the school for the program.

After Connor's program, we ran through the McDonald's drive thru to get the kids some dinner and headed straight to Kyle's program!  He had an end of the year Kindergarten program!

Kyle and his buddy Wyatt!

They sang a few songs and each kid had a line to say either by himself/herself or with a partner or two.  Their lines were based on the alphabet.  Kyle said, "G is for the good friends we each made throughout the year."  He said his line with his two best buddies at school, Tucker and Wyatt!

Kyle is the last one in alphabetical order in his class, so when they called each child's name to receive their certificate and Bible, he was eventually left as the last one on stage!

Our attempt at getting a photo of all three kids!

Family photo!

And, we were so thankful that both sets of grandparents were able to attend all of the fun events!

We are also thankful for Jane Anne (not pictured) because she came and kept Paxton for us during Kyle's program.  They stayed in the back until Kyle said his line and then she took him to the playground!  Thank you, JA!!

It was a fun night celebrating Connor and Kyle!  We are almost done with school...one more week left!
