Happy birthday dear Connor.

Happy birthday to you!

Two years ago today, Connor Jackson White joined our family! And our lives were changed forever! This has been the busiest, most fun, loudest, sweetest, most special two years of our lives. I cannot imagine life without Connor. He makes us smile and laugh constantly and he is the only one that can make us make a fool out of ourselves in public for a a quick little smile or a happy little giggle. I felt like he grew so much during year one, but I could not imagine the changes that would occur in year two! Connor learned to walk, run, jump, dance, say single words, say phrases and sentences, sing, color, make animal sounds, name animals, count to 10 and beyond, name his colors, say some of his ABC's, and so much more! He experienced so many new things this year including his first trip to the zoo, his first trip to the Aquarium, his first Atlanta Braves game, his first LaGrange College football game, his first Auburn football game, his first overnight trip away from Mommy and Daddy, and his first airplane ride. We took trips to Atlanta, LaGrange, Huntsville, St. Simons, Destin, and Scottsdale. He has gotten to know more and more friends like Lydia, Kaleb, Ivy, Anna, Adalyn, Rohan, and more. He has enjoyed seeing his friends at playdates, church, and Kindermusik. He has loved playing with his cousins: Harper, Evie, Mills, Andrew, Davis, and Mackenzie. He has loved spending time with his grandparents: Sunshine and Granddaddy, and Mimi and Bobbles. Some of his favorite things are playing outside, going to the playground, kicking and throwing balls, playing with little trucks and cars, playing on his train table, reading books, coloring, going to church, and going to Kindermusik. He absolutely loves to sing and do the motions of "If Your Happy and You Know It". He sleeps great (11-12 hours at night until 8 a.m., and 3 hour naps). He constantly reminds us that he is a "big boy." He is one of the sweetest, kindest, funniest, most smiley, most laid back kids. We have had such a good time being Connor's Mommy and Daddy! He is such a blessing and we have loved having him in our lives. I'm sad that my baby boy is growing up so fast. How have two years gone by so fast!? But, we are so excited to watch Connor grow even more and turn into such a precious little boy. Year three should be a great year!

Merry Christmas!

We hope that all of our friends and family had a Christmas that was half as great as Connor's! If so, then you probably had a pretty great day! Santa Claus brought Connor a tunnel/fort. That was the first thing Connor saw when he came into my parent's den. He was so excited that we had to show him his other things. He wouldn't have noticed them otherwise! He received so many wonderful presents from family and from Santa. His favorite thing is his new tricycle from Uncle Stan and Aunt Ree. We're having a hard time getting him off of it to come inside. He also loves his tunnel, his grocery cart and his magna-doodle. We had a birthday party for Jesus on Christmas night. We kept asking Connor who's birthday it was and he'd say "Baby Jesus", but he probably thought that we were singing to him when we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus! Oh well; we want Connor to know why we celebrate Christmas and although he doesn't understand it now, he will one day.

Connor's birthday week starts tomorrow with a birthday party with my family tomorrow night. Then, Christmas is not over! We'll head to Huntsville on Tuesday to spend the rest of the week with Jeremy's family and to celebrate Christmas again. While we are there, we will celebrate Connor's birthday again on Friday. When you are ringing in the New Year early Friday morning, I'll be singing "Happy Birthday" to Connor!

Connor talked a big talk about seeing Santa Claus. He was going to stand next to Santa and pat his leg. We was not going to sit in his lap though. Unfortunately, the little girl in front of us in line got very upset by Santa and her crying made Connor more nervous than he already was. After that, he would not consider getting out of Sunshine's arms! So, Sunshine and Granddaddy have a nice picture and experience of visiting Santa with Connor! Oh well, maybe next year!

Connor did tell Santa that he wanted "trucks, balls, and Elmo" for Christmas! Luckily, I think Santa heard and Connor should not be disappointed on Christmas morning! He also gave Santa a high five! So cute!

Connor and I headed to Atlanta last Thursday for a day of pig riding, Santa visiting, and Christmas shopping with Sunshine and Granddaddy. The first stop was the historic Pink Pig at Macy's at Lenox Mall (it used to the The Pink Pig at Rich's in downtown Atlanta when I was very little).

One of the highlights of our trip to Arizona was visiting the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. Connor absolutely LOVED it! And could have stayed there ALL day! He rode the carausel, the steam train, and the small kiddie train. If we had let him near the playground, he would never have left. It was hard enough getting him away from the train table in the gift shop! If we lived in Arizona, we would go here weekly! It was so entertaining for all of us and so cheap! I hope we get to go back one day and spend the day there.

Rawhide

We went to Arizona to visit Mimi and Bobbles and so that I could attend the W5 Technologies Christmas Party (W5 is my part-time job). While in Arizona, we visited Rawhide, an old west town. Santa rode into town on a horse drawn carriage while we were there and Connor loved watching the blacksmith make horseshoes! We ate dinner at Rawhide (wonderful steaks!) and Connor was very entertained by the Cowboys that served us. He kept pointing out their boots and hats! He also loved the band playing guitars!

First Plane Ride

Connor, Jeremy and I headed to Arizona for a few days last week. This was Connor's first airplane ride and as a lap child, we were nervous about how he would do on a four hour plane ride. We worried for nothing! He was an ANGEL on all four flights (Augusta to Atlanta, Atlanta to Phoenix, Phoenix to Atlanta, and Atlanta to Augusta)! The trips to and from Augusta were very short flights, but the flights to and from Phoenix were very LONG flights. Connor took about an hour nap both times on the long flights and was a perfect angel the rest of the time. He moved back and forth between Mommy and Daddy several times, stood up to check out all of the people on the plane, watched DVDs, and ate snacks. We could not have asked for better flights!

New Tricks

A few weeks ago, Connor started counting. He can count from one to ten. Sometimes, he wants to count higher and he'll count eleven, then he'll skip a few, and then count sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen! It is so cute!

His newest trick is saying the alphabet. He can say A through J without any help! We weren't really thinking he would learn them yet, but we say the ABC's a lot and have him repeat each letter after us while we're changing diapers (it is a good distraction to keep him from jumping up and running off). And then, suddenly, he started saying the letters on his own. He knows some of the other letters like P-V, so we're going to work on getting K-O and W-Z!

Thanksmas Presents!

A few years ago, we started what has now become known as Thanksmas! Mimi and Bobbles give Thanksmas presents the weekend of Thanksgiving. Basically, we all receive one Christmas present a month early! This year, the kids really enjoyed Thanksmas! Harper and Connor received little nativity sets. They both love them! Connor loves playing with his at home. We might not be able to put it away after Christmas. Evie received a beautiful Christmas dress and a book. Thank you, Mimi and Bobbles, for our Thanksmas presents!

Last Thursday, I got a GREAT deal on a toddler bed for Connor and he has been sleeping in it with no problem since Thursday night. Keep your fingers crossed that he continues to do so well! We had been considering moving him because he was able to hike his leg over the crib, but had not actually climbed out and because we will be travelling to Arizona in December and we did not want to take the pack-n-play. Then, when I saw the deal on a toddler bed, I decided to go for it and see how he would do. So far, so good!

St. Simons

Connor and I have had a very BUSY week after Mimi and Bobbles left after Halloween. We headed to St. Simons to visit my cousin Jane Anne and her boys, Mills, Andrew, and Davis. We went to watch Mills play football. Connor had a blast with his cousins! They adore him and play so well with him.

We left St. Simons on Friday (11/6) and on the way home, decided to head across the state to go to the Auburn Homecoming game! We tailgated with Andy, Abby, Kevin, Lee, Harper, and Evie and some other friends. The kids had so much fun! We were not sure if we would actually take Connor into the game or not, but when he did not want to let Daddy leave without him, we decided we would all three go to the game. Connor had a great time! We left at half-time and tailgated with everyone for a few more hours. Connor had a great time playing with his cousins and he loved his first SEC football experience! War Eagle!

Cupcakes

As many of you know, I LOVE cake! Cupcakes are my favorite! So, I enlisted a wonderfully little helper to make cupcakes this past week! Connor thought he was such a big boy helping Mommy. We sat on the floor together to make the cupcakes. I handed him each of the cupcake liners and he placed each of them into the cupcake pans. Then, he helped me dump each ingredient into the bowl. However, when it was time to put the eggs into the bowl, I told him that I would have to put the eggs in it. While I sat down on the floor, Connor reached over and grabbed an egg out of the carton and dropped it into the bowl! He did exactly what I said I was going to do...put the eggs in the bowl! It was so cute! After we had all of the ingredients in the bowl, I let him help me hold the small hand mixer to mix the batter. He had so much fun and I can't wait to make our next dessert! Yum! Yum!

Happy Halloween!

Connor was a fireman for Halloween. He was so cute and he had a great time for Halloween. Jeremy's parents (Mimi and Bobbles) are in town this weekend, so Mimi and I headed to a small town nearby to have Connor's Halloween picture made at a photographer that has a Halloween special every year. We walked around the town square shopping in the cute shops and then ate lunch there before heading back to meet up with Bobbles and Jeremy. Then, we headed to Club Car for a Halloween party. Connor had a great time seeing Daddy's work and sitting in the golf cars and 4x4 vehicles! We did not get to Trick-or-Treat because it was raining when we would have gone, but Connor had fun checking out the Trick-or-Treaters that came to our door. Here are a few pictures of the little fireman!

Kackleberry Farm

We headed to Louisville, GA to visit Kackleberry Farm today with our friends Annette and Jordan to celebrate their daughter's first birthday! Connor had so much fun! He was able to jump on the "jump bubble," race rubber duckies, ride on a bucking bronco, pet and feed goats and sheeps and other animals, play on a playground, play in a teepee, ride the cow-train, stroll through the corn maize, and pick a pumpkin! It is definitely something that I would like to do every fall with our family. Today was a beautful day and it was so much fun to enjoy it with our family and with good friends!

Connor's Song

Well, we need to start working on Connor's -sh sound...

A few nights ago, Connor started spinning in circles saying "As-s, as-s," but we could not figure out what he was saying (and we knew that we had not taught him a bad word!). He would spin round and round and laugh and laugh as he said "As-s, as-s" over and over again. It was pretty funny to watch!

Then, the next morning, he was doing it again, but suddenly I heard, "fa down!" Ah-ha! That was the key! He was doing "Ring Around the Rosey!"

Ashes, ashes. We all fall down!

Silly boy! We better start working on the -sh sound so that he says "Ashes" and people do not think we have taught him dirty words!
